Manufacturing of modules: c-Si back end

During module manufacturing, solar cell arrays are embedded in plastic film sheets, mainly ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA), and encased between a glass plate on the front side and a weather-resistant plastic back sheet on the rear, usually made of polyvinyl fluoride (PVF).
Alternatively, for some special applications ###HIDE### the rear side may also consist of a glass plate. The complete sandwich is then baked in a laminator under high pressure at a temperature of around 150°C. The crucial point here is to heat and press the entire module uniformly and rapidly to reach an ideal cross-linking degree within the EVA foil for stable, long-term module function.

LayTec offers non-destructive automated and fully integrated in-line and off-line metrology to control lamination quality of encapsulated PV modules. Find more on the X Link product site
